I hate to point this out. But you see the statistical analysis does not lie. Blogs about toilets (7) comments, conclusion: popular. Blogs about books (0) comments, conclusion: not nearly as popular as things to do with bodily function and social disfunction. Nicht wahr?

That's a very sad, but true, point, Joel.
You're both right...and it's a phenomenon of which I've taken note frequently in the past. The serious--and what I hoped were thought-provoking--posts get mostly ignored, while light-hearted rants and jokes receive oodles of responses. I'm just glad I'm not the only one who notices.
Joel, the idea of Stats class was what convinced me to demote Psych from a major to a minor. So I didn't have to take the class. I believe I'm a happier person for it. About some things, ignorance truly is bliss. ;o)
